Oatmeal Banana Chocolate chip cookies!

Temp1_Attachments_201314-001I love oatmeal raisin cookies and chocolate chip cookies! For this reason, I decided that I would put the two together. Because I don’t like to use a lot of butter when cooking, I replaced it with a banana and only used two tablespoons in this recipe. That is where the name “oatmeal banana chocolate chip cookies” comes from. The name is a mouthful, but they are absolutely delicious. Along with using less butter, I also replaced the sugar with splenda, it’s your choice-but I like to make my treats a little bitΒ less unhealthy πŸ™‚ Splenda works great when I bake or need a sugar substitute. Often times, I see people use applesauce in place of sugar or butter. This recipe is super easy to follow, I hope you try it πŸ™‚

Makes about 30 cookies!
Recipe ingredients:

cookie dough all mixed up! (try not to eat it all) :)

    1. hmm :/ What if you did half and half, or have you tried truvia? I know many people use that to substitute sugar. And if it all comes down to it, moderation is always key. So it won’t kill ya to have a couple with the real sugar. πŸ™‚ have an awesome day!

  1. that actually looks pretty good:-) You would advise baking with splenda? Have never tried. Appreciate you stopping by foodforfun for croissant bread pudding (no splenda involved:-(). Thanks!

    1. they’re delicious. I know a few people don’t like it but I like to use sugar substitutes to reduce the calories in my sweets since I’m already indulging! Some people use stevia or truvia! Have a great day!

  2. With the sugar substitute, they are only 2 points per cookie on Weight Watchers! I have a major sweet tooth so this is music to my eyes! I’ll have to try them out today. Also, if you want to add a “pin it” button, just go to your settings on your dashboard, and click on “sharing,” go down to available services and pick pinterest. you can add facebook, twitter, etc too!

  3. These cookies sound absolutely delicious. If only I wasn’t Paleo. I wonder if an adaptation of these would translate well to a gluten/sugar free lifestyle. Might have to look into that.

  4. hi! these sound so delicious i’ll definitely be trying these! the only thing i’m concerned with is the use of splenda. splenda is a chemical called sucralose that is engineered from a molecule of sugar. Even though there are no calories in it I don’t think the chemical effects on your body are worth it. I wouldn’t use sugar, but a natural sweetener like agave nectar. Even though there are more calories in agave, it’s all natural and wont mess with your body! If you want to read more on splenda you can check out this report a few doctors did =]

I love the healthiness of these though!

  5. There’s a plate with a variety of cookies: chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, etc. I always went for the one with chocolate. When I discovered oatmeal chocolate chip at Potbelly’s, a regional sandwich store, I was in love. Yummy. I may make this.

  6. Yay, I just bought rolled oats. I will have to try this healthy cookie recipe. I am a dessert lover, but also a little bit of a health nut, so these are perfect. Thanks for the recipe πŸ™‚
